HOLY COW! This is a PERFECT Hans Hoyer model 4826 full double Wagner Tuba.
It is a very rare thing to find an individual Wagner tuba for sale-they usually come in sets of 4. The Hoyer Wagner tuba is possibly the finest of these instruments currently being made. Designed by Wagner for the Ring of the Nibelung, the Wagner tuba is a French Hornist’s doubling instrument, and has a dark, mournful sound. This instrument is a double tuba, and plays in either Bb or F. This instrument is exquisite – while many Wagner tubas have a reputation for treacherous intonation (I once saw a professional player play one with a tuner taped to his horn!) the intonation on this instrument is spot on. This particular instrument is one of four lent to a local orchestra for a performance of Bruckner 8 (we have 4 of these!) and is in perfect condition. Get this amazing instrument at an amazing price!
